Coastal Bliss is in an incredible transformation from a traditional 1980’s battle-axe property to a wonderful coastal inspired, modern, north-facing blissful residence.

With the emphasis on the finishing’s, the collaboration between plans, interior design, builder and craftmanship was vital. Right from the driveway and entry you truly get a coastal, relaxed feel. The street appeal is mysterious being the enticing, long cobblestone, vine lined drive way. Once inside Coastal Bliss it is apparent that nothing has gone without planning and designing. Natural colour tones and material selections highlight the coastal feel throughout. The renovated home is now five bedrooms, three bathrooms plus powder room, original fireplace with retreat, open plan kitchen with butler’s pantry, downstairs dining and living which extends to the north-facing outdoor area and its incredible Surfers Paradise skyline views, upstairs master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, as well as the lounge sanctuary with kitchenette/bar space and open study area.

Being a battle-axe block one of the great difficulties was access for trades and suppliers. Also, working off the existing slab and not knowing what you may come up against through the renovation, is always testing. The greatest battle was combining the new and old ceiling heights, while maintaining a sense of continuity.  With the help of some great ideas, problem solving and faultless engineering, we achieved the sense of space the client was demanding, while keeping with the style. The gorgeous, original, exposed, pitch ceilings were included in the brief as a must to remain. This proved to be another worthy challenge, especially as the client wanted no light fittings to deter from these being the feature. Solutions were found through wall fixtures, mirrors and natural light from the expansive window selection.  The window and louvre selection makes the livability of this residence so light and breezy. Due to the choice of smaller style louvres, we could go with a more subtle, fine lined and stylish pool fence, increasing the pool area, maximising the landscape and sunlounge court. The remaining windows, together with the soaring ceilings, give a grander feel. They utilise the natural light, spectacular views and aspect to create a true highlight of Coastal Bliss’ charm.

Selecting Tony Parente and Clamroc Constructions to be our builder was an easy decision. Tony and I had previously collaborated on another mutual clients’ new home. Tony was their builder and I was their interior designer. Over the last 35 years in my profession, I have worked with many builders. I knew from this previous experience of working with Tony that we could trust him to take on the major renovations & extensions of our home.
Firstly, my husband and I created the initial renovation/extension sketch floor plans. Stuart Osman of SOBD turned these into working drawings. Then I produced all the interior drawings & documentation so that Tony & his team of dedicated trades could make our dreams a reality.
From our experience with major renovations there are always hidden challenges throughout the building program. Of course this project was not an exception. Tony expertise and understanding were invaluable in finding building solutions which were functional and aesthetically pleasing. Without hesitation, we thoroughly recommend Tony and Clamroc Constructions team. They delivered an amazing outcome for us. So much so that Clamroc Constructions won first prize for our completed home in the 2018 Gold Coast Master Builders Awards .
